Specialty Care
You may be seeking help with a precise issue in mind or without a clear understanding of what is going wrong other than something is missing from life. Either way therapy can be helpful. I work with persons facing a variety of mental health concerns (e.g. depression, anxiety, family issues, harmful patterns, new stressors). Below are particular issues I have been able to dedicate additional time to study and treat. Even if you do not find your concern listed below, I would enjoy helping you.
Trauma and PTSD
I have extensive training and experience treating trauma disorders, including PTSD, caused by military combat, sexual assault, childhood abuse, and other events.
Veterans Care
As an active duty service member, I have firsthand knowledge of many issues impacting veterans whether it be service-related or based on transitioning to civilian life. Note: I am not authorized to treat current active duty service members or Tricare beneficiaries outside of my official duties as a Navy psychologist. Please contact me if you would like further details.
Religious and Spiritual Issues
I have specialized training and experience working with persons who struggle with some aspect of their spirituality. That may include exploration, questioning, or seeking to deepen faith experiences. My educational training was particularly related to the Protestant faith tradition but I am open to helping persons of all faith traditions understand their spiritual experience and current values.
